In loving Memory of our Founder

Aziza Molyneux-Berry Nee El-Tanani

Born in 1948 to Saad El-Tanani & Safeya El Khouly, Aziza was a twin and the first of 4 sisters and a brother . She was a beautiful little girl and lived all over Egypt due to her fathers work. She went on to study at Cairo University, later she moved to England and met my father, David Molyneux-Berry. They married in 1973 and in 1977 they had Adam Leigh my brother . A few years later I, Karim James Alexander joined in 1985. I had the best childhood. Mama did everything for me.

I started working for mama from the age of 12 pricing catalogues of fabrics and wallpapers in her Dokki showroom. We worked together for many glorious years. I love with a passion the amazing work she created with Design Emporium. My fondest memory is off road driving in a convoy of Jeeps through the western desert during a sandstorm for 5 hours just mama and me in our car. The passion she had for charities and setting up the Zamalek Children Initiative in the Grotto for underprivileged kids to go and play, eat and learn instead of working the streets. She was a super fun and social person who laughed, lived and loved. She loved us, my brother and I too much and to her friends she gave you her loyalty, attention and time and always on time!

Growing up in London we used to go see the Christmas Lights from the car, this year I brought it to you at home, your favourite holiday. I’m so happy every year I get to spend Christmas Eve with you mama.
